I turn 44 this year (no, I don’t feel it) and I’ve been thinking of a good gift for myself. Like most of us, I solved for it in my dream (or did I?).

The Gift: What if I start dropping one materialistic desire, dependency or even a habit every year from now? Will it help me become a better me? Will I be more content with my life? Well, there’s just one way of knowing – by doing it.

And this is where it was a bummer. I struggled to find my one big materialistic dependency beyond money. I was hoping this block would clear up (to give me more options) but it persisted.

With not much success, I decided to reach out to you guys for help. Can you list some materialistic desires or habits that we have? Maybe your comments/responses will help me start thinking. Thanks in advance for your gift πŸ˜‰

Side Note: I did think of letting go of ego, pride, etc., but I felt they were more philosophical. They might even be spiritual at one level (or am I wrong).

Well….besides money I don’t think I have any other dependency/desire at this moment…I am quite happy with the way I am leading my life. In fact want to retire early to enjoy the second innings quite early in this journey called life.
